DJ grew up in Northern Virginia and was a graduate of Forest Park High School. He attended Florida State University and received a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance in 2010. He is working toward a Master of Divinity from Liberty University. He currently serves as a musician in one of the premier military bands in DC. While previously serving in the Marine Corps in Hawaii, he served as an assistant worship leader for the church he attended. He has also performed with numerous professional orchestras as a percussionist.
After returning to Woodbridge in 2013, he was mentored by Dr. Marc Brown in the preparation and leading of worship as well as conducting the orchestra. He briefly served as Interim Music Director at Triangle Baptist Church before returning to Grace as the Traditional Worship Leader. DJ is very interested in the dialogue between theology and worship as well as its effect on the worshiper. He and his wife Julia, have two daughters, Bethany and Ryleigh.
